Cheapest League of Legends RP in Japan: The 5,000 RP Outlier

We compare prices across every seller we list and rank by price alone. MangoRecharge earns from ads, never from seller commissions.

Almost everything about the League of Legends RP price list for Japan matched the one we saw for the United States, Germany and dozens of other countries. Almost. One row was very different: 5,000 RP for $23.66 from Buffget, against $39.00 as the cheapest price for that pack in most other countries.

That single quote reshapes the whole ladder. It makes 5,000 RP the best-value pack on the Japanese list by a wide margin, and it makes the 10,000 RP pack look like a poor deal next to it.

The Japanese RP price list

Five sellers had current RP prices for Japan at the time of writing:

| Pack | Cheapest | Seller | Sellers quoting | Spread to dearest | |---|---|---|---|---| | 1,380 RP | $8.68 | Codashop | 3 | 18% | | 1,400 RP | $10.60 | Eldorado.gg | 1 | — | | 2,800 RP | $17.36 | Codashop | 3 | 17% | | 5,000 RP | $23.66 | Buffget | 2 | 65% | | 10,000 RP | $79.99 | Eldorado.gg | 1 | — | | 13,500 RP | $82.20 | MooGold | 2 | 13% |

There was no yen-denominated quote on the list. The two Codashop rows were quoted in Indonesian rupiah (140,000 IDR and 280,000 IDR) and are shown here converted to US dollars; everything else was quoted in dollars.

Buffget is listed as a third-party seller on MangoRecharge, and it was the only reason the 5,000 RP price dropped. The other seller quoting that pack was at $39.00 — a 65% gap, the widest same-pack spread on the list.

What the 5,000 RP price does to the per-RP curve

| Pack | Cost per 1,000 RP | |---|---| | 1,380 | $6.29 | | 1,400 | $7.57 | | 2,800 | $6.20 | | 5,000 | $4.73 | | 10,000 | $8.00 | | 13,500 | $6.09 |

At $4.73 per 1,000 RP, the 5,000 pack is about 25% cheaper per RP than the 1,380 pack. Compare that with the rest of the ladder: from 1,380 to the largest 13,500 pack, the cost per RP falls only 3.2%. Normally the top pack is the value point; in Japan it is a pack in the middle.

There are also two tiers where value goes backwards:

  • 1,400 RP costs $1.92 more than 1,380 RP for just 20 more RP.
  • 10,000 RP costs $8.00 per 1,000 RP — the worst rate on the list, worse even than the smallest pack.

Splitting beats bulk here

Because of the 5,000 RP quote, stacking it beats buying the bigger packs outright. These are exact:

  • Two 5,000 RP packs give 10,000 RP for $47.32. One 10,000 RP pack costs $79.99. Same RP, $32.67 less.
  • Three 5,000 RP packs give 15,000 RP for $70.98. One 13,500 RP pack costs $82.20. That is 1,500 more RP for $11.22 less.

Lower down the ladder, the usual logic holds: two 1,380 packs (2,760 RP) cost $17.36, exactly the price of one 2,800 pack, so the 2,800 pack gives you 40 RP for free.

One caution: the 5,000 RP advantage rests entirely on one seller's quote. If that listing changes, the ladder falls back to what most countries see. Whether a seller lets you buy the same pack several times is something to confirm on its own page; we have no data on purchase limits.

Japan compared with other countries

  • The United States, Germany, the UK and most other countries: identical on five of the six packs. The only difference was 5,000 RP, which cost $39.00 there — making Japan's quote 39% lower.
  • Thailand and Sri Lanka: the full price list was identical, seller for seller and cent for cent, to Japan's, including the $23.66 pack.
  • Italy and Austria: an extra 650 RP tier quoted in euros, but 5,000 RP still at $39.00.
  • Greece: only three sellers, no Codashop, so the cheapest 1,380 RP was $9.09 from MooGold — 41 cents more than in Japan.

So the honest finding is narrow: Japan does not get cheaper RP across the board. It gets one notably cheaper pack, shared with Thailand and Sri Lanka.

The region question comes first

League of Legends RP is tied to the region (server) of your account. RP bought for one region is not interchangeable with another. Before chasing any of the prices above — especially the outlier — check on the seller's page which region the RP is for and that it matches the server your account plays on. A cheap pack for the wrong region is not cheap at all.

The rupiah-quoted Codashop rows are a good reminder of this: currency alone does not tell you the region, so read the listing.

Where the value is on the Japanese list

  • Best per RP: 5,000 RP at $23.66, if it covers your account's region.
  • Skip: 1,400 RP and 10,000 RP, the two worst-value tiers.
  • Small amounts: 2,800 RP at $17.36 beats two 1,380 packs.
  • If the 5,000 quote is gone: 13,500 RP at $82.20 is the next best rate, at $6.09 per 1,000 RP.

Before you buy

  1. Make sure the RP region matches your account's server.
  2. Read how it is delivered — direct to your account or as a code.
  3. Never hand a seller your Riot login.
  4. Check current prices on the compare League of Legends prices page; the outlier may move.
