Buy-in-bulk is the first rule of top-up shopping, and League of Legends RP for the United States breaks it. When we checked, the 5,000 and 10,000 RP packs cost more per RP than the 1,380 RP pack. The cheapest rate on the whole list sat at the very top, at 13,500 RP — but it was only 3.2% better per RP than the smallest pack.
That changes how you should shop. Instead of "buy the biggest pack you can afford", the right move for RP is to pick specific pack sizes and avoid two of them.
League of Legends RP prices for the United States
Four sellers had current RP prices for the United States at the time of writing, across six pack sizes:
| Pack | Cheapest | Seller | Sellers quoting | Spread to dearest | |---|---|---|---|---| | 1,380 RP | $8.68 | Codashop | 3 | 18% | | 1,400 RP | $10.60 | Eldorado.gg | 1 | — | | 2,800 RP | $17.36 | Codashop | 3 | 17% | | 5,000 RP | $39.00 | Eldorado.gg | 1 | — | | 10,000 RP | $79.99 | Eldorado.gg | 1 | — | | 13,500 RP | $82.20 | MooGold | 2 | 13% |
Three of the six packs had only a single seller, which is why those rows show no spread. Codashop and MooGold are listed as established resellers on MangoRecharge; Eldorado.gg is listed as a third-party seller.
One detail matters for the two Codashop rows: those quotes were listed in Indonesian rupiah — 140,000 IDR for 1,380 RP and 280,000 IDR for 2,800 RP — with the dollar figures above being the converted amounts. That is a strong hint to check which RP region a listing is for before you buy (more on that below).
Cost per 1,000 RP: not a straight line
| Pack | Cost per 1,000 RP | |---|---| | 1,380 | $6.29 | | 1,400 | $7.57 | | 2,800 | $6.20 | | 5,000 | $7.80 | | 10,000 | $8.00 | | 13,500 | $6.09 |
Three findings jump out:
- 1,400 RP is a poor deal next to 1,380 RP. Twenty more RP cost $1.92 more.
- 5,000 and 10,000 RP get worse as they get bigger. At $7.80 and $8.00 per 1,000 RP they are the two most expensive tiers on the list per point.
- The real bulk discount is small. From 1,380 to 13,500 RP the cost per RP drops just 3.2%.
The pattern makes sense once you look at the seller column. The cheap tiers (1,380, 2,800 and 13,500) each had two or three sellers competing. The expensive ones (1,400, 5,000 and 10,000) had a single seller each. Where there is no competition on a pack, there is no pressure on its price.
Stacking smaller packs can win
Because the ladder is uneven, combining smaller packs sometimes beats buying one large one. All of these are exact:
- Two 1,380 packs give 2,760 RP for $17.36 — exactly the price of one 2,800 pack. The single pack gives 40 more RP for the same money, so take the 2,800.
- Two 2,800 packs give 5,600 RP for $34.72. One 5,000 pack costs $39.00. You get 600 more RP and save $4.28 by stacking.
- Two 5,000 packs cost $78.00 for 10,000 RP, against $79.99 for one 10,000 pack — $1.99 less for the same RP.
And at the top: 13,500 RP for $82.20 is only $2.21 more than the 10,000 RP pack, for 3,500 more RP.
Same pack, different prices
Where several sellers competed, the gaps were moderate. On 1,380 RP the dearest quote was $10.27, 18% (or $1.59) above Codashop. On 2,800 RP the dearest was $20.33, 17% above. The largest dollar gap was on 13,500 RP: $92.91 against $82.20, a difference of $10.71.
So for RP, choosing the right pack size saves you more than choosing between sellers on the same pack.
The United States is not a special case
We compared the US list with other countries. The full price list for the United States was identical, seller for seller and cent for cent, to that of 42 other countries, including Germany, the UK, France, Canada, Australia and Brazil. Japan, Thailand and Sri Lanka differed because one extra seller quoted the 5,000 RP pack much lower. Italy and Austria had an additional 650 RP tier quoted in euros. Greece and Israel had fewer sellers, and without Codashop the cheapest 1,380 RP price there was $9.09 from MooGold.
So there is no US-specific RP price. What you pay depends on pack choice, seller choice and — crucially — whether the RP can actually be used on your account.
RP is tied to your account's region
This is the most important point in the article. League of Legends RP is tied to the region (server) your account is on. RP bought for one region cannot simply be used on an account in another. A cheap quote is only cheap if it is for your server.
That is why the rupiah-denominated Codashop quotes deserve a careful read: before buying, confirm on the seller's page which region the RP is for, and that it matches the server your account plays on.
Best picks from the US list
- Small top-up: 1,380 RP at $8.68. Skip 1,400.
- Medium: 2,800 RP at $17.36, or two of them instead of a 5,000 pack.
- Large: 13,500 RP at $82.20, the lowest rate per RP on the list. Avoid the 10,000 RP pack.
Before you buy
- Confirm the listing's RP region matches your account's server.
- Check how it is delivered — a direct top-up to your account or a code to redeem.
- Never give a seller your Riot password.
- See the current list on the compare League of Legends prices page.
